Start with a solved Rubik’s cube. You need to start with your cube in the solved position to make a checkerboard pattern. Also known as a chessboard, your Rubik’s cube will have a checkered pattern on each side when you are done. Find out how to make the famous Superflip, the checkerboard, the snake patterns, the cross, the cube in a cube and many other nice motives. If you've got bored solving the Rubik's Cube always the same way and you're looking for a new challenge try to reach one of these patterns without watching the algorithms supplied. Sep 01, 2017 Description: in this video I talk about a pattern on a 2x2. Thanks for watching!

I may have shared this pattern before for the 3x3, but here it is on the 7x7.
Rubik's Cube Advanced Method
This is what I call the 3 cycle checkerboard. On a normal checkered pattern (2 cycle checkerboard), opposite sides of the cube are checkered with each other (white/yellow, red/orange, blue/green). With this pattern, three sides are checkered with each other, with two colors per side (yellow/blue, blue/red, red/yellow, white/green, green/orange, orange/white). You can also do other color combinations.
There is also the 6 cycle checkerboard, where all six colors are checkered with each other, two colors per side. (For example: Green/yellow, yellow/orange, orange/blue, blue/white, white/red, red/green). If you look at it from the correct angle, you can see all 6 colors at the same time: https://i.imgur.com/U5SKnCx.jpg
It may not be a new pattern, just thought some of you might like it. Cheers!
